Summer Basketball

The mosquito spraying on Thursday, August 19th, will not affect Track & Field or Summer Basketball, because it will be done after 9:00 pm. Please contact us if you have any questions, 978-251-5151.

For children in Grades 1-12 (based on 2009-2010 school year)

The purpose of the league is to build sportsmanship and confidence and to provide an organized experience to learn and enjoy the game of basketball. All coaches are instructed that players should receive equal playing time. It is understood that children will miss games because of other commitments (vacation, other sports, etc.).

GRADES 3 – 8 games will be played Sunday through Friday nights at the outdoor courts at CHS, with each team playing two games per week. Games will start at 5:00 PM (Sunday nights only), 6:00 PM, 7:00 PM , 8:00 PM or 8:45 PM (minimal number of 8:45 games) with the older age divisions playing at the later times.

GRADES 1 – 2 games will be played Sunday through Friday nights at the outdoor courts at Chelmsford Community Education Center (Westlands School), with each team playing two games per week. Games will start at 5:00 PM (Sunday nights only), 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM.

Expected divisions, (there will be separate divisions for boys and girls) based on the grade the players finished
in June 2010. The divisions are: Grades 1-2, Grades 3-4, Grades 5-6, and Grades 7-8.

Requests (coaches, teammates) will be considered but not guaranteed, as the first priority is to make a best effort to balance ability amongst teams. Individual requests regarding nights or times that games will be played cannot be accommodated.

Coaches will contact team members during the first week of July. There are generally 1 – 2 practices held before the season starts for the younger grades. However, all grade divisions may go right to games without practice.

Tuition: $75.00 per child, Max per family $180.00; after June 11, 2010 a $15.00 late fee applies

HIGH SCHOOL
Boys and Girls Divisions

There will be two games per week, weather permitting. Schedule will be based on enrollment.

Ages: Grades 9–12 (For students who just completed grades 9–12)
Game Season: Starts July 11, 2010
Tuition: $45.00 per child; after June 11, 2010 a $15.00 late fee applies.
